Intermediate Printmaking Sundays February 9th, 23rd and 9th March

To those of you who are returning, I can’t wait to welcome you all back to the studio!

This will be a perfect follow on from what you have previously learned. 

The outline is as follows:

Week 1 - Monoprinting with stencils and found materials

Create layers in your work using different textures, papers, fabrics, feathers. We will recall techniques used in the first session to add details, such as applying ink with a brush, drawing on the back of the paper, into the ink etc.

Week 2 - Drypoint and Tetrapak with Chine Collè

I am happy for you to use either of these, depending on your preference. We will create images by scratching into the surface with tools; or other abrasive surfaces, and then laying coloured tissue papers, pages from books, magazines or newspapers to add interest. 

Week 3 - Lino printing

A follow on from the basic carve and print sessions, where we will create prints with multiple lino blocks. There will need to be some homework set for this week, so please make alittle time availbale for this. 

And that's it. Three full day sessions from 10-4 jammed packed full of information and fun.

We will need to factor in regular breaks for drinks and snacks, so please bring these. And if we need a bit of extra time at the end to clear up and wipe down, then that's ok with me. 

As usual, all session will be lively and no doubt messy, so come prepared for this.

I will provide handouts and relevant links etc after each week.
